JOB PURPOSE:

The Science plan Brand Manager is responsible for executing Hill’s go to  market strategy in Pets at Home, our largest retailer.  Working closely with cross functional commercial and Pets at Home marketing teams to ensure our in store and online execution is best in class.   Driving increased engagement and collaboration with Pets at Home is critical in this role by demonstrating category knowledge and shopper insights that will drive both pets at Home category and Hill’s business growth. 

 

The ideal candidate will be highly competent at assessing different data points (both internal and external) and competitive activity and have an ability to translate this learning into developing GTM Plans,  with a high focus on 5Ps and shopper execution to deliver against determined brand and business objectives.  

 

This role is responsible for supporting the Senior Brand Manager in translating Hill’s global brand strategy into local growth plans, working collaboratively in synchronisation together to be the ambassadors for the brand in the UK & IRE.  The ideal candidate is a self starter with a growth mindset, who understands what it takes to effectively execute brand plans in retailers to achieve our growth goals and outperform the competition. You will report to our UK & IRE Science Plan Senior Brand Manager. 

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand brand & customer priorities in order to build shopper activation plans across both in store and eCom that unlocks mutually beneficial growth 

  • Maximize the use of existing insights in the business to craft plans and demonstrate thought leadership with retail partners 

  • Own the execution of Pets at Home shopper calendar ensuring Hill’s brand is executed in line with global guidelines 

  • Review performance of shopper plans against set KPIs, building on learnings and optimising shopper execution in order  to improve return on investment, return on objectives  and unlock incremental growth

  • Regular monitoring of competitive activity and 5P tracking in Pets at Home to influence plans 

  • Support the Senior Brand manager in setting and implementing Hill’s Science Plan mandated assortment and over all sku simplification processes  

  • Manage the annual shopper budget, working with procurement to achieve competitive costs

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • Educated to degree level

  • Shopper/Retail marketing experience 

  • Digital marketing experience 

  • Ability to identify local issues & opportunity and articulate & deliver growth plans against these 

  • Excellent analytical skills, able to interpret data across multiple sources 

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement

  • Proactive / Self starter 

  • Confident, able to lead and work effectively in a cross functional team
