Purpose of position :

  • Co-lead the Quality organization at the Petaling Jaya site
  • Responsible for implementation of Quality Systems in the CPPJ to ensure compliance with Colgate’s Global Quality Standards and local/regional regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with other functional leaders (Plant Operations, Technology, Marketing, Regulatory, Legal, Customer Service & Logistics, Procurement, etc.) to ensure effective technology transfer for new product launches & cost-savings projects, and to ensure accurate handling, communication & resolution quality issues.
  • Oversee execution & monitoring of global compliance programs (KPIs, On-Shelf Quality, Mock Recovery Audits, Consumer Complaints etc.) and quality management of external business partners (suppliers, contract manufacturer, third-party warehouses, etc.)
  • Responsible for quality compliance of all imported products from global Colgate facilities and Contract Manufacturers to the SAH, and products shipped within SAH. Involves high interaction with Commercial and Supply chain, GTCs and key functions at other manufacturing sites.

What will you do ?

  • Define and implement the site Quality Plan, including Quality & Micro Management strategies, direction & policies with the goal of protecting the business, reducing variation/waste & supporting business growth.
  • Responsible for the robustness of key Quality Systems including, but not limited to, Incoming Component Inspection, Finished Product Inspection, Testing and Release, Validation, Non Conformances, Deviations, CAPA, Change Control, Mock Recovery, Internal Audits, Laboratory Management and Documentation Management.
  • Manage the site quality team members (Analytical, Micro, Compliance, Tech Transfer, Quality Engineer). Accountable for all Performance Management & Development and Coaching & Feedback activities.
  • Responsible for the quality compliance of raw & packaging material suppliers, contract manufacturers, co-packers and warehouses, labs, etc. including leading quality audits and assessments.
  • Lead the site in development & implementation of action plans to address audit findings from corporate & internal Colgate Quality Standard/GMP audits
  • Accountable for the site-wide consumer satisfaction programs such as Consumer Complaint Tracking & Reduction and the On-Shelf-Quality Program.
  • Ensures that appropriate SPC tools are effectively used in key site processes to drive continuous improvement.
  • Key member of the Site Leadership Team. Ensures that the Quality Organization effectively contributes to key business building activities (customer service, cost savings, etc.)
  • Measure Divisional KPIs and report progress to Senior Management.

Education Required :

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or related field.

Experience Required :

  • Minimum 10 Years experience in Quality, Supply Chain, R&D
  • Minimum 5 Years experience working in Manufacturing/Plant / Operations environment
  • At least 5 years experience conducting and facilitating effective failure investigations, corrective and preventive actions, Notices of Deviation and Management of Change Documentation.

Skills Required:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and strong background in quality systems compliance
  • Experience in People management is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including proficiency in English
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance systems is helpful
  • Experience working with SAP is preferred
  • Technologically-savvy; Proficient digital literacy in Google Business Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides), Microsoft applications and ability to learn company specific tools & programs
