Colgate Palmolive Company is searching for a Senior Engineer to join our Global Toothbrush team to develop novel product solutions for oral care devices from initial concept through transfer to mass manufacturing by working with a multi-functional team of internal and external subject area specialists in Marketing, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Manufacture Engineering, Software Engineering, Packaging Engineering.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of novel device product structures based on concept & market needs. Define product requirements and build multiple initial concepts, based on early research scientific and/or engineering studies to address identified consumer needs and insights.
- Proactively participate in the device innovation, improvement or adaptation opportunities. Build connections between internal local & global innovation teams, as well as explore external innovation partners and new opportunities
- Select technology architecture and bring in external new technologies & practices. Execute the device development process by designing, prototyping, validating and optimizing devices.
- Partner with multi-functional teams, generate all required product documentation including Detailed Product specifications, Key Product Performance Requirements, Supporting Test Plans and Test Reports. Documentation will be used to support safety and regulatory processes, and transfer products through a stage gate process into manufacturing.
- Present to management, marketing teams and R&D peers on various subjects, including, scientific principles, engineering concept diagrams and computer generated renderings, rapid prototypes and demonstrations, experimental data and test results, etc.
- Working with both internal teams and ODM/OEM, support production pilots by reviewing and approving manufacturing plans, assembly workflows, quality inspection plans and criteria.
- Monitor product quality post manufacturing through consumer complaint data and returned product to generate corrective and preventative actions.
- Be responsible for aspects of project management including: project planning, project budget, cost of goods management.
- Generate and detail documented intellectual property through creation of invention records and supporting patent applications.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology/Science or related engineering fields (Mechanical/Electrical/Computer/Industrial Design)
- Minimum 8 years work experience with at least 4 years of experience in the development of consumer and/or medical / diagnostics device with experience in state of the art technology is required
- Prior experience with electro-mechanical device system development, system engineering, product testing and validation required
- Knowledge in high volume production and quality control to ensure product robustness (stability and reliability) and manufacturability
- Abilities to manage product life cycle and communicate with stakeholders
Preferred qualifications:
- Product and system requirements writing is preferred
- Skills in managing product ramp up and execution of cost reduction
- Data and statistical analysis using tools such as Minitab (or similar tools)
- Knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance systems
