The Experience
The Associate Sourcing Manager is responsible for taking the lead role in ensuring supply, cost, quality and service for contract manufacturers in the North America Division. He/She will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for sourcing contract manufacturers, resolving service/quality issues and driving FTG opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the Purchasing Key Performance Indicators and working with the entire supported function/business units.
- Participating in the development, negotiation, and implementation of contract agreements with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
- Implementing outstanding strategies and maintaining relationships and alliances with the leveraged suppliers so that they are in tune with developments and directions in Colgate business units.
- Identifying, developing, and leading strategic business relationships, internally and externally, to ensure the alignment of sourcing strategies & project implementation to meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with suppliers, technical and other functional groups as well as CMS, Technology, Marketing and Finance functions to implement Purchasing policies, resolve issues, align service and financial strategies.
- Leads continuous improvement programs with suppliers including FTG project
- Support the Enhance Supplier Management program by completing a risk assessment on contract manufacturers, setting up and completing audits.
- Support Responsible Sourcing initiatives.
- Proactively manages relationships with suppliers to prevent/seek possible service issues and quality issues.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent local university degree) in a technical or business field, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or comparable field.
- At least 5 years of Procurement, Supply Chain, Financial or Marketing related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An advanced degree (MBA) or professional certification (CPM, CPIM, or Project Management).
- Be a highly capable negotiator able to handle significant amounts of ambiguity and negotiating conditions.
- Advanced contract negotiation skills and strategic cost analysis fields as it relates to the industry and the ability to evaluate the competitiveness for the particular commodity.
- Practical experience with core procurement skills, such as market analysis, contract development and management, supplier selection, negotiation, supplier performance, and supplier relationship management, as well as some Marketing specific knowledge.
- Practical experience in crafting RFP’s (Request for Proposals).
