Join our team in Piscataway, NJ as an Indirect Procurement Capital/Facilities Specialist!

The Indirect Procurement Specialist will be accountable for optimizing the procurement strategies and processes for Construction projects and Facilities. Must establish alignment with the company Leaders, as well as the Global Procurement Category lead.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Working collaboratively with division and global Leaders, partners and suppliers to ensure centrally led sourcing projects meet realities/requirements of plants and are executed efficiently.
  • Global Procurement governance in all projects (IP involvement with all spends, CRMC approvals, supplier creation, PO compliance, Code of Conduct adherence, etc.).
  • Managing all Capital (building & construction) /Facilities contracts and related business relationships, internally and externally.
  • Ensuring service and quality objectives are maintained and continuously improved, and all issues are resolved quickly.
  • Collaborate with team members, business and functional business partners, and suppliers to develop and supervise project plans to ensure sourcing projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Support key high value facilities and Capital (building & construction) projects to implement efficiencies and cost savings
  • Participating in the development, negotiation and implementation of contract agreements with suppliers.
  • Accountable for the Purchasing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and working with the entire supported function/business units.
  • Ensuring organizational service, quality, innovation, and financial goals are met.
  • Gaining comprehensive industry knowledge of standard methodologies, processes, and technology trends to proactively adjust sourcing strategy.
  • Identifying metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing and supplier innovation and efficiencies.
  • Providing regular updates to Division and Global teams on status vs. annual objectives, major projects, key issues, etc. Participation in key meetings - staff meetings, Cost of Sales, Mid year reviews, goal alignments, etc.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent local university degree) in a technical or business field, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or comparable field.
  • At least 5 years of Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering or related experience.
  • At least 5 years of Construction procurement experience.

 

Encouraged Areas of Skills

  • Be a highly capable negotiator able to handle significant amounts of ambiguity and negotiating conditions.
  • Contract negotiation skills and strategic cost analysis subject areas as it relates to the industry and the ability to evaluate the competitiveness for the particular commodity.
  • Practical experience with core procurement skills, such as market analysis, contract development and management, supplier selection, negotiation, supplier performance, and supplier relationship management, as well as some Marketing specific knowledge.
  • Practical experience in creating RFP’s (Request for Proposals).
