We are excited to invite applications for the position of Full Stack Web Developer within our Global Technology (R&D) applications team! We are looking for a highly motivated full stack developer to join our team to help us drive innovation at Colgate. This role will involve planning, design, development, and maintenance of web applications for the R&D team with an initial focus on developing innovative solutions in close collaboration with the clinical research group.
The ideal candidate will have strong HTML, CSS and JavaScript skills, be proficient in Git for version control and Python for backend development. Experience with the capabilities of cloud providers (Google, AWS, Azure) is also essential. You have a passion for user experience, code and technology. You should be a self-starter - eager to learn new technologies, delight users, and protect user data through compliance with privacy standards & regulations and implementation of appropriate security safeguards.
The ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with our business partners is also key. Understanding current business processes, documenting user requirements and developing applications with a collaborative and agile mindset is essential for success in this role.
This role also provides the opportunity to learn and develop skills in SAP (Product Lifecycle Management). While this experience is not essential for the role, it is a great opportunity to get exposure to this widely used and popular ERP system.
This position will have responsibility to:

Develop and modify user-facing and backend features for web and mobile applications

Support ongoing development for existing projects/applications

Build reusable code and libraries for future use

Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability

Collaborate with project partners to translate business requirements into digital solutions

Work closely with UX and design resources to ensure the technical feasibility of designs while maintaining user-centric focus

Work within a product team to prioritize and implement new application features, while simultaneously maintaining the quality of existing features and functionality

Assist the product manager in managing the product backlog, assigning points to backlog items to accurately establish velocity, and establishing sprint goals
Basic Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, Business or equivalent experience required

Minimum of 5 years in a technical IT role, developing, configuring and implementing business applications required

Experience with capabilities of major Cloud providers (Google, AWS, Azure) required

Experience with web development languages (Javascript (Node/React), HTML, CSS) required

Experience with Python backend development required

Experience with Git version control required

Strong oral & written communication skills with an ability to express sophisticated technical concepts in business terms

Strong analytical, problem solving & conceptual skills
Preferred Experience:

Experience with SAP PLM (Recipe Management / Recipe Development) preferred

Experience working in ABAP and/or Web Dynpro preferred
