Job Summary:

The Sourcing /Procurement Specialist, Indirect Procurement will lead primarily the Company’s indirect spend in Colgate (Philippines) Asia. Candidate will also handle spend in the various Commercial Categories (Media, Marketing, Customer Development)

 

Job Purpose:

 

I. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Procurement specialist focuses on the following:

 

  • Implementing the global sourcing plans and strategies using Colgate-Palmolive's seven step sourcing process.
  • Supporting Colgate's requirements for supported function/business units/category spend by selecting core and/or leveraged suppliers which provide efficient cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Implementing outstanding global strategies and manage relationships and alliances with the used suppliers so that they are in tune with developments and directions in Colgate business units.
  • Identifying, developing, and handling strategic business relationships, internally and externally, to ensure the alignment of sourcing strategies to meet business requirements
  • Working collaboratively with team members, business and functional business partners, and suppliers to develop and supervise project plans to ensure sourcing projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Accountable for the Purchasing Key Performance Indicators and working with the entire supported function/business units.
  • Ensuring interpersonal service, quality, innovation, and financial goals are met.
  • Gaining comprehensive industry knowledge of standard methodologies, processes, and technology trends to proactively adjust sourcing strategy.
  • Identifying metrics, tools, and processes to optimize sourcing and supplier innovation and efficiencies.
  • Participating in the development, negotiation and implementation of contract agreements with suppliers.
  • Other tasks that maybe assigned from time to time.

 

 

ii. Key internal and external customers

Internal: Marketing, Customer Development Team, Customer Service and Logistics, Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources, Legal

External: Vendors, Third Party Service Providers, Third Party Services & Logistics Provider, Other Business Partners

 

 

III. Leadership/Supervision

Lead vendors in innovative projects related to new material sourcing, alternative material sourcing, process improvement

 

IV. Education and Functional Experience Required:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Marketing or related business field preferred; MBA preferred
  • At least 5 years of Procurement, Supply Chain, Financial or Marketing related experience
  • Practical experience with core procurement skills, such as market analysis, contract development and management, supplier selection, negotiation, supplier performance and supplier relationship management, as well as some Marketing specific knowledge.
  • Practical experience in creating RFP’s (Request for Proposals).
  • Ability to formulate and proactively communicate strategies and concepts
  • Practical understanding of project management methodologies and e-procurement processes and tools such as SAP, eSourcing, etc.

 

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree is helpful.
  • Professional certification (CPM, CPIM, or Project Management) is desirable
  • Expertise with strategy development for multiple indirect spend categories
  • Be a highly capable negotiator able to handle significant amounts of ambiguity and negotiating conditions
  • Sophisticated contract negotiation skills and strategic cost analysis subject areas as it relates to the industry and the ability to evaluate the competitiveness for the particular commodity.
  • Able to travel
