We are looking for a quick learner who loves science!


Join our team as a Microbiologist, responsible for product and raw materials testing, troubleshooting and implementation of the facility Micro Control Plan.


Key Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Perform microbiological testing of  finished product, raw materials, water, work-in-process, environmental monitoring and equipment Cleaning & Sanitization  swab.
  • Perform review and approval for raw materials and finished product for release.
  • Support development and implement a plant-wide Microbiological Control Program.
  • Maintain, support and utilize KPIs system to drive continuous improvement, identify trends and draw conclusions.
  • Assist with product, equipment, and Cleaning & Sanitizing validations.
  • Maintain lab equipment and ensure adherence to SOP for calibrations requirements.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the Laboratory Quality Control Systems.
  • Conduct Failure Investigations and accurately document Out of Specification results.
  • Knowledgeable of cGMP’s and understand the OTC drug or pharmaceutical industry expectations.
  • Notify the facility of nonconformance issues and support implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Contribute with Microbiology and Cleaning & Sanitization related Training to plant employees.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and provide resolutions for forward actions
  • Purchase laboratory consumables and perform routine inventory checks
  • Media preparations and qualifications to support lab analysis
  • Housekeeping and perform routine laboratory cleaning
  • Provide training to new Microbiologists and Lab Technicians

Qualifications Required:

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology or related Science field.
  • Experience with basic laboratory equipment such as pH, balances, viscometers, etc. and microbiology methods.
  • Experience with common microbiology lab instrumentation (i.e. autoclaves, air samplers, light microscope, biohazard cabinets, and water purification system.)
  • Proficient at computer applications i.e. Google Suite (Docs, slides, sheets or MS Word, MS Excel, e-mail).
  • Must understand basic lab safety, bio-hazard and chemical waste disposal practices
  • Ability & Flexibility to work a rotational schedule to support a 24/7 plant facility operation
  • Work required and mandatory on weekends, overtime and holidays

 

Preferred Qualifications:


Master of Science in Microbiology or Related Science.
Practical experience as a microbiologist in a manufacturing lab work environment implementing cGMPs.
Experience with general documentation practices and cGMP compliance with notebooks, data entry forms with specific attention to details.
Familiar with quality systems such as failure investigations, Corrective and Preventive Actions, calibration, change control, etc.
Experience in an FDA regulated environment
Working knowledge and practical experience with good laboratory practices in a microbiology lab environment and competent with microbiology techniques such as Gram staining, isolation plating, media preparation and microorganism identification methods.
Experience with software applications like  SAP, LIMS
