Head of Retail Marketing Benelux

(Full time)

In this position we are looking for an innovative leader who brings strong strategic perspective and vision and is able to translate Hub/Divisional strategy on a Benelux level. S(he) plays a vital role in guiding the Marketing Team by overseeing the planning and prioritizing of the multiple marketing projects across teams and contributing to the diverse day-to-day activities and brand initiatives. In this role s(he) is encouraged to develop and lead the marketing team to increase their skills, productivity, and focus on high priority initiatives. Additionally (s)he will further the simplification and standardization of processes within the team’s working and thus increase results. 

 

It is a visible position within the organization directly reporting to the Benelux General Manager, responsible for managing a medium size Marketing team (counting 14 permanent positions including 6 direct reports and 6-7 interns) as well as taking upon a broader set of responsibilities within the Benelux management team. 

 

 Key accountabilities and responsibilities: 

  • Lead the monthly commercial process to monitor business health and identify appropriate plans and incremental opportunities to deliver and exceed KPIs
  • Drive the category Budget and Planning process including forecasting of volume, ASP, category dynamics, volume/value shares and relationship of shipments to consumption
  • Drive RGM (Revenue Growth Mgnt) thru intensive collaboration with Hub Mkt; Finance; and Customer Development
  • Develop RE strategies and shopper solutions based on robust insight
  • Marketing activation and local touch point expertise
  • Co-Develop WE Hub/Benelux innovation grid based on Division grids. Influence division bundle development and timing to improve local success and identify further opportunities
  • Lead and develop the Benelux Retail Marketing team: Motivate, mentor and empower the team in the development and execution of best in brand and digital (retail-) marketing plans

 

Profile

  • Internationally mobile: Weesp (NL) and Brussels (BE) – expect to work at least 40% of time in each country
  • Bachelor degree required; Master degree is a plus 
  • Minimum 8 years of work experience, ideally in the FMCG branch; management experience is a plus! 
  • Fluent in English and Dutch, French is a big plus
  • An excellent communicator easily adapting communication towards different audiences  in a clear, concise, and appropriate manner / an engaging storyteller to conduct customer presentations
  • A leader with effective managerial and interpersonal style  fosters a strong sense of collaboration
  • A positive can-do attitude that persists regardless of challenges 
  • Can easily manage the creative process and facilitate brainstorming, always remaining open to the ideas of the others
  • Thorough planning and priority setting and keeps sight of the overall view
  • Strong analytic and decision making skills facilitating deep commercial and financial understanding
